You will have no recourse to Charles Sturt University in respect of any claim arising out of the acceptance of any accommodation offer or any arrangement or contract in respect of any accommodation.

Your responsibilities:

It is your responsibility to inspect the property. All accommodation must be inspected in person prior to the payment of any monies or the signing of any documents.

You must make your own enquiries and satisfy yourself as to the integrity of the accommodation provider and whether the condition of accommodation is appropriate.

As a tenant your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Pay your rent on time and always ask for a receipt
  • Do not damage the premises since, as a tenant, you are liable for the cost of the repair
  • Notify the agent of any repairs
  • Maintain the premises (this may include cleaning and upkeep of the garden)
  • Be aware of your neighbours - do not disturb the peace, comfort and privacy of your neighbours
  • Do not allow guests to cause a disturbance or damage the premises
  • Do not use the property for illegal purposes
  • Leave the property in a similar condition to what it was at the start of the tenancy
  • Hand in your keys when the tenancy is finished

Personal information that has been collected about you as part of this process will be dealt with in accordance with Charles Sturt University’s Privacy Management Plan (Privacy Management Plan).
